Falling Bottlebrushes at the Botanic Gardens

Oil Paint. There are several bottlebrushes in a shady nook in the South Coast Botanic Gardens. This particular tree had dropped most of its bright red petals, creating a carpet of pinky-orange hues. I wanted this painting to capture the tree's beauty even when past peak bloom. 8x12
