Robert Burridge Workshop
Loosen Up Painting Retreat & and Group Art Show with Bob at Gallery of Hermosa!
Suggested Materials List:
- Paints: Any professional-grade acrylic paint (no cheap, student grade paints). Your choice of colors. Burridge will be painting with Holbein Artist Acrylic paint colors to match his Goof-Proof Color Wheel, plus black and white.
- Pyrrole Red Light
- Marigold
- Hansa Yellow
- Cobalt Blue
- Cad Green Deep
- Compose Blue #1
- Compose Blue #2
- Ultramarine Deep
- Primary Magenta
- Luminous Opera
- Lamp Black
- Titanium White
- Any water soluble crayons or drawing pencils – black and your choice of colors.
- Brushes: Synthetic Blends, 1/4”, 1/2” and 1” Flat and 1” fine brush for acrylic washes.
- For cleaning brushes: Murphys Oil Soap, “Original Formula” or The Masters Brush Cleaner. You will use this at the end of each day.
- Surfaces:
- Watercolor Paper for warm-up exercises: You can use 10”x10”, 9”x12” or similar sizes, 140 or 300 lb CP. Bob will use Kilimanjaro Watercolor Paper. Pre-gesso your paper, one coat, one side - let dry.
- For the Group Show with Bob: You will paint on small pre-gessoed canvases or cradled wood panels, 10”x10” and/or 12”x12” - as many per day as can fit on your painting table. No large canvases or canvas panels.
- Water container: such as a low, half gallon plastic bucket or a low 10x10 inch Tupperware-type container. (They don’t fall over)
- Roll of VIVA towels or similar.
- Hand Barrier cream or Nitrile gloves.
The Gallery of Hermosa will also have on hand in case you don’t want to travel with these supplies:
- Paper towels
- Water containers for painting
- Murphy’s Oil Soap and/or The Masters Brush Cleaner
